Our Living/Dining Area

This is the front of our house, the dining/living area is open concept with a groovy sunken living room.

I tried to jazz up my traditional furniture with some animal prints and vibrant colors
My Mamas Chalk Horse. I remember it from the early 60's, I was very little when she bought it.

Meet McDuff.  There is a little side porch that has broken tile off the Dining Area....One of his favorite places from which to guard his Manor.

McDuff's Manor

Welcome to McDuff's Manor

McDuff and I live on South Boundary
in a 1950's ranch style house, which has NOT seen alot of updates. :)

This is our Before Picture of the backyard and rusty tin garden shed
I

A long hot day in the sun with a round up sprayer and a paint roller and 9 gallons of concrete stain improved the looks of the concrete....

and an afternoon with my wonderful neighbors who helped me with some, creative painting transforming the garden shed.  Isnt it the cutest thing?!

Peg learns to garden!

Stay tuned for the inside of McDuff's Manor.

My old Ky home

I grew up in a small coal mining town , Hazard, Ky. Deep in the appalachians, up a holler called Lickbranch. My mamas home was put together in the 20's and is comprised of two small camp houses that were connected, it has a hand hewn rock walled basement, rock steps, and a metal roof. There is a rock wall around the yard that was made from an old rock chimney that my mother had torn out because it was drafty and dangerous.
